Google's coming to town
On April 22, 3C Studio plans to listen in on all-things Googley. We'll be sure to share what this might mean for your websites in the ever-changing world of site promotion and the requirements/suggestions for getting better search engine results.
& while we're on that topic,
client Van Wyk Risk & Financial Management is on the move -- literally and figuratively, and is ramping up site promotion and searchability.
Jessica VanSolkema contacted 3C Studio to insure that both "sites" (physical location and website) would be easily found by their clients and prospects; search attempts needed to be successful in both situations. Jessica pointed 3C Studio toward the free Website Grader, which she had run a test of www.vanwykcorp.com. When 3C Studio implemented just one of its suggested changes, it garnered Van Wyk 6 positive "points" on their ratings scale.
As we implement more suggested changes, we'll look to detail increased traffic to both their new location and their improved site content!
Which leads us to a Google feature,
the Google Map "Street View" link. This gives a Van Wyk visitor an actual view of the exterior and the rest of the street in 360 degree panoramic view:

Though to a few this may seem a bit Big Brotherish, this Google Map street view can be considered a great asset to organizations -- not only can people use printable directions, but they're given a visual reference as well. Independent contractors roll through streets in a Google-labeled car taking photos to be "stitched" together for this very purpose!
Let 3C Studio know if you feel this Web 2.0 feature might be a worthy addition to your website's Contact information.
& one last fun Web 2.0 item:
Fruit Basket - Flowerland's Rick Vuyst, known in West Michigan as Mr. Green Thumb, has developed a great blog called ThankYouVeryMulch.com, an integral part of the garden centers' upcoming site redevelopment for myFlowerland.com.
Rick is now adding video-blogging (aka: vlogging) to his Web 2.0 repertoire, so 3C Studio registered two domains for Flowerland:
YewTuber.com (the obvious video/green reference)
myYewTube.com (in keeping with the main website name)
If you know Rick at all, both names reasonated with this very punny man... he deemed me a true "entre-manure". We'll see where this video portal endeavor fits in the new site development currently underway.
Such an addition is another fine example of Web 2.0, elements of which 3C Studio is interested in bringing to all websites that could benefit from it!
